Disused cement works
The Gole di Breggia (gorge of the river Breggia) is an area of outstandingly beautiful rock formations in southern Switzerland which has been made into a geological park. So it's quite a shock to find a partially-demolished cement works adjacent to the main point of access.

The owners, Swiss concrete manufacturer Holcim, have decided that, rather than eradicate it completely, it would be better (cheaper, presumably) to leave it as a shell and turn it into a "tourist attraction". Still, it makes a great photographic subject and I spent a while one Sunday exploring it.

I was intrigued by the way this spade had been left leaning against the wall...
