The title refers to the German for 'golden autumn' and is often used as way of referring to the Engadine region at the time of year when the larch forests put on a dazzling autumn display.

As I was driving to this spot there was a most magnificent sunrise but the road was closed and there was a diversion right through the middle of a gravel works. By the time I had found my way to a spot where I could photograph the valley without the ugly manmade intrusion, the colours had drained from the sky. I still like the image enough to include it here, however...
