Stand of Birches
I was attracted to the lichen-mottled trunks of these birches but I was having trouble finding a workable composition. Then I decided to ignore all the so-called rules about photographing trees and point the camera at the ground. The resulting forced perspective, selective focus and patch of brighter light make for a much more interesting picture.
