Val Triquet
In the 19th century, the side of a mountain gave way and slid down into the valley. The resulting extensive boulder-field dammed a river and formed the lake of Derborence. In time, the meagre soil that accumulated on the boulders allowed a stunted forest of pines and firs to develop.
