It has been a long-standing aim of mine to get to the top of Mt. Ventoux. In 2006, when I first tried, the road was closed due to snow. This time it was closed due to high winds. C'est la vie.

As I followed the road out of Bédoin, I soon saw this lovely little pine forest so I stopped the car and started to explore. The air was full of the scents of pine and wild sage but, despite the wonderful aromas, finding a composition proved difficult. This is, I feel, something of a compromise. But, as a certain Austrian body-builder once said, I will be back...
