It was a bumper year for berries of the mountain ash tree or rowan. Some years the berries form too late or are few in number but this year everything came together at the right time. An impressive crop of red berries coincided with the peak of 'goldener Herbst' (golden autumn) when the larches were at the height of their colour. I made several images exploring this theme of red-on-gold.
